I had a red, swollen, and necrotic foot, affecting all of my toes and some parts of the foot. Initially, Dr. Borenstein recommended amputation, but I was hesitant. He then suggested a picc line, a line from my arm to just above my heart, to administer two bags of antibiotics at home for six weeks. After the treatment, my body responded well, and Dr. Borenstein performed four in-office debreidments of my big toe and two surgical procedures, resulting in the loss of less than half of my toe. I am grateful for his decision to treat rather than amputate, and his staff, especially Dave, who kept me entertained during difficult times.
